On-Boarding Project

This project focuses on developing an onboarding process for incoming student employees, specifically interns and front desk staff. Given the absence of established protocols, there's significant scope for innovation and improvement. Throughout this journey, I've consulted with various stakeholders to gather their valuable insights. Notably, the HR personnel who initiated the process provided invaluable guidance to steer our efforts. Currently, I'm in the process of creating a comprehensive Teams page to centralize all pertinent materials for a seamless onboarding experience.

Week's Digest

The Week's Digest serves as a weekly information hub tailored for both current students and alumni. Within this digest, I curate a wealth of resources including internship and job opportunities, upcoming events for the week, and more. The content is carefully selected to provide students with valuable insights and ensure they have access to the best opportunities at their disposal.

Information Interviews

During my collaboration with Career Services, I displayed a strong eagerness to absorb knowledge and insights from various sources. Recognizing the importance of understanding the HR aspects within organizations, I proactively reached out to establish a connection with our HR representative. Beyond seeking her guidance in navigating HR responsibilities, I also hoped to enlist her as a mentor for my onboarding project. Additionally, I sought assistance from two other professionals: one who had previously initiated an onboarding project, and another with extensive experience in student employment. The valuable insights I gained from both individuals significantly enriched my understanding.

Career Goals

As part of the internship requirements, I outlined three career objectives. Firstly, I aimed to refine my Cover Letter to serve as a benchmark for future job applications. Secondly, I sought to establish a connection with our HR representative at Fairbanks to conduct an informative interview. Lastly, I aimed to arrange meetings with three individuals whom I believed could offer valuable insights to enhance my onboarding project. I'm pleased to report that I successfully achieved all of these goals.
